Liebster Award

Hey everyone! I’m super honored to be nominated for the Liebster award by Arwa @ One’s Peculiar. If you don’t already follow this blog, go check it out!

What is the Liebster Award?

Great question, fellow blogger! The Liebster award helps to recognize new bloggers and help others discover them. If you have less than 200 followers, you are eligible for this award!

  2. Answer the 11 questions the blogger gives you.
  3. Nominate 11 other bloggers with less than 200 followers.
  4. Give them 11 questions to answer.

1. What is the reason behind your blog’s name?

So Fire and Rain books is actually my second blog name. Originally, for all of three ish months, I was Fictional Boyfriends. I wanted a blog name that was more inclusive to other genres than just romance, and also wanted one that was contrasting. I got this idea in my head to have all the good books be one thing and all the books I wouldn’t recommend to others be the contrasting thing. Then the song Fire and Rain by James Taylor popped into my head, and I decided it was perfect for the blog. So, “fire” books are books with 3-5 stars, and “rain” books are books with 1-2 stars.

2. Does blogging ever stress you out?

All. the. time. But I’m also a very stressed person, so it isn’t personal to blogging. It’s more that it takes a lot more time than I was originally expecting, and I tend to care too much about each individual post, so I get frustrated a lot when it doesn’t get as many comments as I’d hope. Also, I have that classic blog envy where I’m jealous of those blogs who started a the same time as me but have 500+ followers (but seriously, go you). But it also is a stress release for me, so yeah.

3. What motivates you to keep blogging?

The books! And the community! I’m not going to stop reading, and now that I’ve discovered an outlet for all my bookish thoughts, I can’t give it up. And the blogging community is overall so sweet and encouraging that whenever I feel lazy and don’t want to blog anymore because I feel like it isn’t good enough, someone leaves a sweet comment complimenting me or engages in a discussion with me and I feel reinvigorated.

4. What’s your favorite TV show?

All the “favorite” questions are just unfair. I can never choose just one! But a couple of my favorites are Friends, One Tree Hill, and Gilmore Girls. Those are probably my top three favorite shows. And seriously, if anyone ever wants to discuss one of those, I’d be so down! (But no, I haven’t watched the Gilmore Girls revival yet, so if anyone mentions that I’d have to be forced to end you and then I’d be sad. So just don’t mention the revival).

5. Online book shopping or book stores?

Book stores all the way! Being able to feel the books and smell the books and touch the books can’t be beat. Also, then I can actually take my time and compare the books before I buy them.

6. Coloring or painting?

Coloring. I wish I was a painter gal, but sadly that just makes me more frustrated. But I love markers (and colored pencils…and fancy pens) and mandalas are some of my favorite stress relievers. Also, my school notes are a colorers dream.

7. What’s your dream vacation?

What a hard question, because pretty much any vacation is good enough for me. But I’m going to be vague and therefore general and say something that is both relaxing and exciting, where I can venture out of my comfort zone and go on adventures, with both my best friends and my family. And eat good food.

8. Favorite fictional world?

Honestly, I hate to be so cliche, but how can anyone not choose Harry Potter? I would give anything to go to Hogwarts and go to Hogsmeade and buy my robes and eat at the Great Hall and be sorted into a house and even fight against Voldemort and triumph against evil. That world is just so magical, both literally and figuratively.

9. Do you have an Instagram? (Bookstagram)

I have an Instagram, but it’s a private one. I do not have a bookstagram because as much as I wish I wasn’t, I am awful at taking artsy book pictures and the stress of one Instagram is enough for me.

10. What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

Chocolate peanut butter and butter pecan. Unless it is Ben & Jerry’s, where my favorite is Half Baked (and if they have the Half Baked PB version that is even better!) But I’ll eat any ice cream put in front of me (even vanilla!) so if you want to just send some my way…

11. Who is your book boyfriend/girlfriend?

Wooah! I could give you such a long list. But I’ll spare you, and tell you that my ultimate book boyfriend is Peter Kavinsky from To All the Boys I’ve Loved BeforeHe’s sweet, loving, caring, athletic, playful, teasing, and reenacts classic rom com scenes to make Lara Jean happy. What more could you ask for?

And that’s it for my questions. But now it’s time to nominate people, which is hard because I think everyone’s blog is deserving of this award, and also I’m not sure how many people have already been nominated/ have the correct follower count. So if I nominate you, please feel no pressure! And if I forget to nominate you but you have the correct follower count and want to do this award, consider yourself nominated!

Thank you for nominating me! I do understand that feeling when you see other bloggers who started at about the same time as you got so many more followers than you do, especially when all they do is just typing the title and then putting pictures and a sentence below them. But like really, who cares anymore? All I want to do on this blog is meeting to other book lovers and sharing our thoughts together.
