The Who Am I Tag

I’ve seen this tag around the blogosphere and it seemed super fun, so I’m so happy Beth @ Reading Every Night tagged me in it! I actually love personality quizzes to this is so exciting for me to share my answers with all of you.

What is the meaning of your name?

My name is Sydney Leigh. It doesn’t have the best meanings haha.

Sydney has an uncertain meaning. One theory is that is is derived from a French place named after Saint Dennis. Another theory is that it is Old English for wide island (hence Sydney, Australia). My parents named me Sydney after my Great Nana Sarah, who passed away before I was born.

Leigh is from English origin meaning meadow, pasture, and delicate. I actually did not know this, so that’s exciting to learn! My parents gave me the middle name Leigh after my Papa Larry, who also passed away before I was born.

What is my Myers-Briggs Personality Type? (Link)

I’ve actually taken this before, but I think my answer has changed since then. I am now a ESFJ-T.

People who share the Consul personality type are, for lack of a better word, popular – which makes sense, given that it is also a very common personality type, making up twelve percent of the population. In high school, Consuls are the cheerleaders and the quarterbacks, setting the tone, taking the spotlight and leading their teams forward to victory and fame. Later in life, Consuls continue to enjoy supporting their friends and loved ones, organizing social gatherings and doing their best to make sure everyone is happy.

At first glance, I didn’t think this fit me that well (I’m definitely not the most popular in my school). But reading through the strengths and weaknesses, and the rest of the information on my personality type, I’m finding that I identify with it more.

I’m a Libra, which I do identify pretty strongly with. Usually I relate to the things said about Libras.

What is my Hogwarts House? (Link)

I’m a Hufflepuff and proud! Every quiz I take, whether its Pottermore or Buzzfeed, says I’m a Hufflepuff.

Hufflepuffs value hard work, patience, loyalty, and fair play. The house has produced its share of great wizards—not least Newt Scamander, author of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

What are my learning styles? (Link)

I’ve actually always wondered this, and I’m not so surprised to find that I learn all different ways, although I have a mild Read/Write preference. I always seem to adapt to different teachers and their styles, but I prefer when studying by myself to read or write things down. It’s also not surprising that my second highest was Kinesthetic, because I find physical models and hands on activities make it so much easier to learn.

Am I More Right or Left Brain Dominant? (Link)

I use mine equally. This quiz was pretty interesting to take, because a lot of the time I didn’t know which answer related to which brain side. In most of the tags I read, people use both sides of their brain pretty equally, so I think that’s interesting.

I honestly have no idea, and my parents don’t know off the top of their head either. We should probably get on figuring that out.

Every other person I’ve seen also got a writer, which is funny because that’s basically what we all do now!

What Divergent Faction Do I Belong In? (Link)

I belong in Abnegation.

You belong with the selfless. You always find yourself lending a hand to others, and you seldom realize it. You truly care about the people around you, and you’re the first to notice when someone is under the weather. Just when you think you have a day to spend for yourself, you probably catch yourself listening to a friend dish about her problems instead. Some people might tag you as “boring”, but those closest to you know that you’re a simple gal with the purest of hearts.

I would’ve thought Amity, but Abnegation was my second guess. I like the whole selfless thing, but I think they took it a bit far sometimes.

What Does My Birth Order Say About Me? (Link)

I am a first born. I have one younger sister. According to this article, that means I’m a natural leader, ambitious, and responsible. I think this is pretty accurate, considering I take on many leadership positions in my BBYO chapter and consider myself to be responsible.
